Celebrating Our Volunteers |
Sister Carmen Community Center (SCCC) was founded almost 50 years ago by volunteers, and it’s still powered by volunteers today! We rely on volunteers to staff our food bank, thrift store, front office, and garden. They also help maintain our buildings, repair bicycles, teach our classes, assist with events, serve on our Board of Directors, and perform administrative tasks.
It was a joy to celebrate this amazing group at our annual Volunteer Appreciation BBQ in August at Lamont Does Park in Lafayette. Click the video below to see more pictures from the day. Two Days, Two Ways To Donate to Our Food Drive |
We're hosting a food drive with two days (September 12th & 13th) and two ways (below) to give food during Hunger Action Month! -
Drive thru our parking lot at 655 Aspen Ridge Drive in Lafayette to drop off donations. (Traffic note: From 287, please turn West on Diamond Circle near Walmart to avoid road work on Baseline.)

Donate at the Louisville (1375 E South Boulder Road) or Erie (Hwy 287 & Arapahoe) King Soopers locations. Simply give your donations to the volunteers there or drop them in the collection bins, and we'll pick them up there.
Click here for our most-needed donations at this time. (Scroll down the webpage to the "What Can I Donate?" section.) In addition to our food drive, food donations can be dropped off any weekday from 9am-4:30pm at our food bank and financial gifts can be made online anytime here.

Good Music for a Good Cause |
Join us for high-energy, family-friendly music, dancing, great local food, and community fun on the farm from 5-7:30pm on September 5th! Thanks to Ollin Farms and Los Cheesies for putting on their second annual concert fundraiser to keep healthy food flowing into our community.
Every ticket helps support the farm's holiday food access programs, bringing fresh, nutrient-dense produce to local families through Sister Carmen Community Center, Community Food Share, OUR Center, Emergency Family Assistance Association - EFAA, and local childcare centers. | HEALTHY SNACKS COOKING CLASS |
Before the kids headed back to school, we whipped up healthy snacks in a cooking class. Thanks to EVERYONE who joined us—kids, parents, grandparents, caregivers, and volunteers! As you can see from the video, it was a blast!
Our adult cooking classes resume on the second Wednesday of the month, starting September 9th. Summer vegetables will be on the menu, including eggplant rollatini, ratatouille pasta, pesto with veggies and baguettes, smashed cukes and dessert. We will harvest some veggies from the SCCC garden. All are welcome! |

The Dennis Kelly Foundation honors the life, legacy, and creative spirit of Dennis—an artist known for his passion, authenticity, humor, and imagination. In his memory, his siblings are committed to supporting artists who dedicate their lives to creative expression but often face challenges that make that path difficult to sustain.
The foundation is planning a Fall Art Market on October 10th on a farm in Lafayette—a vibrant gathering featuring local artists and creatives displaying and selling their work. Applications for vendors are being accepted now. Click here to learn more.
